The Industrial Land Agency (AFI) was established on April 14, 1973. It is a public institution operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy. Its primary goal is to strengthen the industrial fabric and contribute to Tunisia’s economic and social development.

Main Responsibilities

Among the key tasks entrusted to the AFI are:

  • Conducting studies to identify, develop, and equip industrial zones, areas for traditional industries, and small businesses.
  • Creating and developing industrial zones equipped with all the necessary infrastructure for the establishment of industrial projects.

Objectives

The AFI aims to:

  • Ensure sustainable development.
  • Encourage and promote investment.
  • Develop and prepare industrial spaces.

Achievements

Since its inception in 1973, the AFI has developed approximately 115 industrial zones over an area exceeding 3,000 hectares, distributed across coastal areas and regional development zones. These zones have facilitated the establishment of over 6,000 industrial enterprises across various sectors.

Some of its notable achievements include:

  • The industrial complex for aviation and aerospace components.
  • The establishment of Hutchinson-Tunisie in the industrial zone of Sousse.
  • The Center of Excellence for Aerospace Components Manufacturing (CEMIA) in the industrial zone of Mghira.
